The new-generation Prado combines Toyotas proven 2.8L turbo-diesel with its 48V V-Active system, retaining a strong 150kW and 500Nm while adding a motor-generator and compact lithium-ion battery. A new 8-speed automatic replaces the previous six-speed unit, helping deliver smoother, quieter and more responsive progress both around town and on long highway runs.

The latest Prado steps up to an impressive 3,500kg braked towing capacity, giving you the muscle for substantial caravans, boats and adventure trailers. Tow/Haul functionality helps hold lower gears when required, sharpen response under load and increase engine braking; ideal when the Sunshine Coast weekend plans involve something substantial behind you.

This is still a proper LandCruiser underneath, with permanent four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, a lockable centre differential, Active Traction Control and Downhill Assist Control. Crawl Control adds even more capability when tackling difficult terrain, helping the Prado work its way through steep, loose or technical sections while the driver concentrates on steering.

By choosing the GX five-seater, you gain a huge 954L luggage area behind the second row, expanding to around 1,895L with the rear seats folded. Add a combined 110L fuel capacity and you have an outstanding setup for camping gear, tools, fishing equipment, luggage and extended trips well beyond the Sunshine Coast.

The GX now features a large 12.3-inch touchscreen with cloud-based navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, backed by a 7-inch driver display and multiple USB-C charging points. Toyota Safety Sense includes Pre-Collision Safety with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert and Road Sign Assist, helping provide extra confidence on long touring days and busy everyday roads.
